„Dortmund exceeded my expectations. The TU Dortmund staff guided me through everything, making my stay incredibly smooth. I loved the wide range of courses and contemporary topics, plus the many conferences, sports activities, and discounts on cultural events. The people are super friendly and always ready to help – it's a very positive environment! I'd totally recommend spending at least one semester here.“

Getting Ready to Say Goodbye!

Towards the end of the semester, it is time to prepare for your return to your home university if you are not staying at TU Dortmund University for another semester.  We have compiled important information on documents that you will need at the end of your stay on this page.

Transcript of Records

The Transcript of Records provides an overview of the courses you have taken during your exchange semester or year. In order for your supervisor to generate such a Transcript of Records, we kindly ask you to provide your supervisor with all the information needed:

  • please fill in this course certificate for each course individually
  • then send the course certificate to your lecturer and ask them to complete the document with your grade and ECTS
  • the lecturer needs to send it back to you and you send all collected course certificates to your departmental coordinator
  • please tell your departmental coordinator your date of arrival and date of departure
  • your supervisor creates the Transcript of Records and sends it to you by email.

For seminars and courses at other faculties and UA Ruhr universities, please discuss with your departmental coordinator / academic advisor how the grades will be gathered. For language certificates, please forward the certificate to the departmental coordinator / academic advisor so that these courses can be included in your Transcript of Records.

Certificate of Attendance

The Certificate of Attendance certifies the duration of your Erasmus+ semester at TU Dortmund University. As it is not issued automatically, you have to request it via the online departure form (where you can also upload a template from your home university for this certificate) at the International Office. You will receive detailed information from the International Office with the Departure Checklist.

„My stay in Dortmund was amazing. The university itself is really good, both the students and teachers were welcoming and incredibly friendly. As an Erasmus student I can say that the ESN was always very active and students responsible were always very inclusive. Germany gives you the opportunity to see and explore not only its culture, but also multiple other ones. For the ones that also like to go on trips and travel, you will get many opportunities to do so in Germany. I had an amazing time there.“
