Studying and Working Abroad during your studies

Outgoings: Planning a Stay Abroad

Whether you want to take classes at a foreign university or gain experience working in an international environment - everything is possible during your studies at TU Dortmund University!

The World at Your Fingertips

Use the time in your studies to take advantage of all the opportunities you are offered - with each stay abroad you gain independence, expand your network and learn valuable skills for life and your future job. Exchange programs and scholarships, as well as special funding programs for equal opportunities, make international experience a viable option for any student.

Beyond the Erasmus+ student exchange program in this department, the International Office can assist with planning and funding for:

  • student exchange programs overseas or a "Free Mover" semester in Europe or overseas
  • internships and volunteer work worldwide
  • short stays abroad for a summer or winter school
  • researching or writing your bachelor or master thesis abroad

First Step: Get Involved on Campus!

We also strongly suggest that you get involved in international activities on campus, like the buddy program. Such programs help prepare you for your own stay abroad while you help foreign students adjust to life in the Ruhr Area.

All international activities - whether on campus or abroad - count towards the Certificate "Studium International".
