This is a project seminar in an intercultural classroom format. The Ukraine and climate crises are merely the two most visible problems facing Germany and the United States as well as the world as a whole. There are many more issues both societies are facing which can be productively explored.
In a collaborative seminar, students from the University of Virginia and TU Dortmund University will look at some of the major problems from structural and urban change to migration and challenges to democracy and identity. Reading and discussing texts in various media formats, students will develop and present projects in small groups.
The group of students from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville will visit Dortmund from 7 January through 13 January. During that time, Dortmund and Virginia students will closely collaborate in seminar sessions making up the major part of the class. In the course of fall, several class sessions and introductory digital sessions between the two groups will be held.
For information, questions and early registration about this proseminar please write to Walter.Gruenzweigudoedu at any time.
